Ryan Serhant began his first day in the real estate business on September 15, 2008 – the same day that Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy in the wake of the subprime mortgage collapse. While the real estate sector has steadily recovered, Serhant himself has quickly become one of the most successful brokers in the world, with agents under his leadership in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, and the Hamptons. On the 12th anniversary of his first day in the industry, Ryan launched his own real estate brokerage, SERHANT. – continuing to revolutionize the traditional brokerage model by innovating through media and content creation. Ryan’s team has been named by WSJ Real Trends as the #1 real estate team in New York for two years in a row, and the top 3 in the country, selling close to $1 billion in real estate in 2019. Ryan is consistently the youngest broker to make the Wall Street Journal’s top ten list each year.

Ryan stars in the popular Bravo series “Million Dollar Listing New York,” which just wrapped its eighth season. As star and producer, he also debuted his new Bravo show, “Sell It Like Serhant,” and published his first book, “Sell It Like Serhant”. His second book, “Big Money Energy” is set to release on January 19, 2021. His motto communicates his professional and personal philosophy, “Expansion. Always. In all ways.”

  1. More videos like this please! It was so informative 🥸 also, could you make a video of what to look for when joining a brokerage? There’s so many, how do I know in making the right choice?

  2. When I finished highschool I immediately started doing real estate studies to get my real estate licence. Im currently 22 and im planning to start my own business here in Belgium in the coming years. There is a lot of competition from big real estate brokers like century 21 etc. Is there any advice you could give me when I start my business?

  3. No question about the fact you have worked hard selling that 4 billion giving you a hefty income—It must be staggering the expenses you have—employees—your office overhead—advertising taxes etc—I see what you go through with people to make some of your sales Years ago I could have tolerated the public and higher end spenders but no thank you—You really do put up with a lot of BS and difficulties—Ryan—you would be my broker if I were buying in NYC

  4. Thank you so much for your video, I'm new in real estate agent so i have to learn more about you, the best real estate agent in the world!
By the way i wish i can make around a hundred bucks this year! So can you give me an acvide to make its come true.
    Appreciate that

  5. 4 billion in sales, so around 40 million if you're taking 1% commission.
    Not bad at all.
Then as watching realized you were on TV for 10 years, yep you're making bank lol.

  6. I recently came across your channel and your videos are so helpful. Informational, honest, entertaining, all of it. Thank you!

  7. As much as I've invested into real estate, I love to diversify into other finance markets and profits have been steady. For a long while, I've made several successful trades through the services of my fund manager and gotten great directives from her as well.

  8. I actually have something similar to this as part of my listing presentation for when a prospect politely asked me to “cut my commission”. When I break down my gross v net, it’s always quite a shock to them how little agents actually take home. Not to say that we are underpaid but we are not living as extravagantly as people may perceive. Well at least this girl isn’t 🙂

  9. Ryan, I have been watching you since the beginning on Millionaire Listing NYC. I don't know how you have time for YT Channel. You have my dream job.

  10. Also, it should be clear why you have branched out into social media, owning your own brokerage, etc.: diversification and stability of revenue streams and in turn better margins.

Grinding to sell 2 homes a month is arguably some of the hardest work one can do, especially if you have expenses to manage and no seed money from parents, prior work, etc.

Brilliant work here on your channel and your own brokerage.

  11. This is perfect and dead on. I will be sharing with my daughters.

Now, I am a partner in a global consulting firm so while the compensation mechanics differ, the concepts are identical.

  12. This was very informative. I’m
Not into real estate but the message of conections and knowing exactly what you’re getting into is key.

  13. I’m in the travel business, and I see how it is similar to real estate with the commission structure.

  14. You dont even need to study or need an education exam .. just be one and buy yourself a license rest is pure luck and betrayal. And dont ever forget to talk nonstop

  15. This job is the biggest fraud ever. Doing nothing but getting % of the biggest purchase most people will do in their lives.
